Taipei, TAIWAN – July 29, 2025 – CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a pioneer in AI and facial recognition technologies, today announced the release of FaceMe® Platform 6.4, the latest version of its on-premise, server based facial recognition API solution. Designed to support various operating systems (Windows, Ubuntu Docker, Red Hat Docker) and accessible through any web browser, FaceMe® Platform 6.4 introduces new security-focused capabilities that enable developers to go beyond traditional facial recognition including Person Attribute Recognition (PAR), Person Re-ID, and enhanced Deepfake Detection.

Person Attribute Recognition (PAR) API
Powered by a NIST- certified facial recognition engine with 99.83% accuracy, FaceMe® Platform 6.4, in addition to its existing ability to detect gender, age (adult/ child), and emotion during facial recognition, now offers Person Attribute Recognition that captures non-facial appearance details. This includes clothing type (e.g., long or short sleeves), colors, and visible accessories like hats or bags. Originally developed for FaceMe Security and People Tracker, PAR allows for the extraction of visual identifiers from IP camera images, making it easier to search for and track targeted individuals. This is particularly beneficial for locating lost children or persons of interest, such as suspicious people. With this API now available, developers can integrate and create their own software with this proven engine by CyberLink.

Person Re-Identification (Re-ID) API
Also new in FaceMe® Platform 6.4 is the Person Re-ID API, a capability that enables systems to identify individuals by matching visual similarities across Person Templates, even in the absence of facial visibility. Originally developed for People Tracker, Person Re-ID is particularly useful in video analytics applications where a person’s movements need to be tracked across time and multiple locations. When combined with PAR, an individual detected on one camera can be re-identified on another, providing actionable intelligence for security teams. This feature supports more effective surveillance workflows by reconstructing a person’s movement path, allowing for quicker identification and response.
With the integration of Re-ID functionality into the FaceMe® Platform, developers can leverage standardized APIs for rapid integration - accelerating application development and project deployment, while further enhancing system security and deployment flexibility.

Additional FaceMe Platform 6.4 Enhancements
The latest version of FaceMe Platform includes several additional updates to improve performance, security and scalability.
“Although our main focus has been facial recognition, we understand that clear facial images are not always available when trying to identify subjects,” said Mei Guu, President of CyberLink Business Unit 2. “With the additions of Person Attribute Recognition and Person Re-ID APIs, we’re giving developers powerful new tools to quickly locate and track individuals across multiple cameras, even without a facial image, ensuring better safety and more secure environments.”
